Equality Health Panel
Our Equality Health Panel provides a regular opportunity for protected groups and their representatives to share their views, information and feedback with the CCG and providers in Wakefield.
We are happy to support individuals and organisations to be involved in this work.
It is a forum where the voices of those people with characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010 and other disadvantaged groups are represented in the health care system. It brings together commissioners, health care providers, stakeholders and local communities to identify areas for improvement and suggest recommendations. This is just one forum for involving individuals and communities from disadvantaged groups.
At recent meetings the Panel have supported the CCG and providers on the Equality Delivery System (EDS2) grading process, development of the equality objectives, and the CCG Communications, Engagement and Equality Strategy. The group also provided assurance on our recent Accessible Information Standard action plan.
Wakefield CCG has integrated equality into its Communications, Involvement and Equality Strategy which details our approach and the work of the Panel will be included within these reports.
