The CCG has agreed a set of equality objectives for 2018-2022. To ensure the development of the right objectives the CCG considered a number of things; its current priorities and planned actions, the local community and health inequalities and what the public and its patients had told them.
To ensure the genuine and meaningful engagement of local communities the CCG has used the Equality Delivery System (EDS2) as a tool to develop its objectives.
This tool is designed to help NHS organisations, in partnership with local stakeholders, to review and improve their performance for individuals and groups protected by the Equality Act 2010. From the results and the feedback given by our Equality Health Panel we have developed the following objectives:
- Improve access to GP Practices for specific equality groups
- People with learning disabilities live good healthy lives
- Improve governance processes within New Models of Care
- Improving staff experience
Progress on the equality objectives is monitored bi-annually by the Integrated Governance Committee and an annual update is provided in the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) report.
