Equality is part of the Corporate Affairs portfolio, so it is formally part of the governance of the organisation. There is a Lay member with responsibility for Equality and Engagement. Progress on equality activity is monitored through the Integrated Governance Committee who report to the Governing Body.
Our Public involvement and Patient Experience Committee (PIPEC) and Equality Health Panel support our work on the engagement and equality agenda. To reflect the changing ways of working across the CCG, primary care and Wakefield council we are working with the groups to review how they function. They may merge to form a new group to take forward equality and engagement.
