Social media acceptable use

Our social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter) are here to provide information and advice and we welcome comments and engagement with our content.  We understand that people have differing views on many issues, however any form of cyber-bullying is not acceptable on any platform.

While we will actively monitor our platforms, if you do notice any offensive comments on our sites at any time, please send us a private message and let us know. 

We’ll take action on our accounts if content in any format (such as comments, videos, images, GIFs, attachments, links, emojis): 

  • Contains spam, is defamatory of any person, sets out to deceive others, is obscene, offensive, threatening, abusive, hateful, inflammatory or promotes sexually explicit material or violence.
  • Is discriminatory in any way.
  • Is off-topic, irrelevant or unintelligible.
  • Contains any advertising or promotes any services.

If your content relates to the above, we may hide or delete it and may block your access to our accounts.

Anti-COVID-19 comments and posts

If you post any misinformation or disinformation relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and the NHS vaccination programme, we’ll take immediate action by deleting your post or comment and blocking your access to our social media accounts.

This includes content in any format such as comments, videos, images, GIFs, attachments, links, emojis etc.  Spreading this kind of misinformation is dangerous and could cause serious harm.

Hours

Our social media pages are monitored between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We will not be able to respond to questions or complaints outside of these hours, even if we are posting from our accounts.
