GP appointments on evenings and at weekends in Wakefield

If you feel unwell in the evening or on the weekend, call your GP practice number as normal. Your call will be taken by a friendly clinical advisor who works in Wakefield, usually within a few minutes.

Explain your symptoms as clearly as you can to the clinical advisor so they can give you advice, arrange a prescription or signpost you to the best service for your needs.

If you need an appointment, the clinical advisor can book you one for the same day at Trinity Medical Centre or Pontefract Hospital, where you will be seen by either a Wakefield GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP).

To use the GP Care Wakefield service, you will need to give permission for staff to access your medical records. This allows healthcare staff to fill in what advice and treatment you have been given for your usual GP to see.

The service is open Monday-Friday, 6pm-10pm, and Saturday/Sunday/Bank Holidays, 9am-3pm, and available to answer your calls and for same-day booked appointments only.

After 10pm, you should call NHS 111 if you have an urgent problem, or 999 in an emergency.
