Cancelled: discussion group around gastroenterology on Wednesday 18 March

Thank you for agreeing to join the discussion group around community gastroenterology, which was due to take place on Wednesday 18 March.

An opportunity to feedback

In light of the current coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we have decided to cancel the event. As disappointing as this is, we believe that it is the right thing to do in the circumstances.

Our plan for the group was to share the feedback so far and let you know how this has been reflected in the draft plans for the service. This is something that we still want to do and we have included the key steps below. We are also happy to have a conversation with you by telephone if you would like to discuss any part of this in more detail.

  • We have received 200 responses to the survey and these have been carefully analysed.
  • You have told us how you currently use the services, what works well at the moment and what could be improved. You have also told us what matters to you when using gastroenterology services.
  • We have also engaged with General Practices across Wakefield and existing providers of gastroenterology services to get their views.
  • All of this has been pulled together and used to inform the development of the service model and to draft a proposal for this service.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your time in sharing your thoughts and experiences, and for your willingness to get involved further.

If you would like to discuss the service specifics in more detail, please contact Miranda Berry on
